December 12th Vote 100 Women and prisons. Portcullis House, London. 6pm
When I started writing Bad Girls a few years ago I never imagined I would be about to take part in a panel discussion at Portcullis House during Vote 100, Parliament’s year long celebration of the 1918 Representation of the People Act. I’ll be sharing the stage with Baroness Jean Corston, author of the groundbreaking Corston Report of 2007. The report provided a blueprint for the future of women in prison – and was sparked by a visit to Holloway. It needs to be put into practice.
